Paving here comes with its own challenges. Summer surface temperatures regularly soften and oxidize asphalt. Heavy spring storms test drainage. Much of the area sits on expansive clay that swells when wet and shrinks when dry. Most early pavement failures we’re called to fix trace back to a weak base or poor drainage, not bad asphalt. So that’s where we put the most care on every project.
Our Asphalt Paving Process
Every job starts with a free on-site estimate. We walk the area with you, check how water moves across it, look at the existing surface, and talk through how the pavement will be used. A driveway for two cars needs a very different build than a lot that takes delivery trucks every day.
On new installations, we handle all the site prep ourselves: excavation, grading for proper drainage, and a compacted gravel base sized to the load the pavement will carry. Then we lay and roll the asphalt to the right thickness, finish the edges, and clean up the site. Where an existing surface is still structurally sound, resurfacing with a new overlay can be a cost-effective alternative to full replacement. We’ll tell you honestly which one your property needs.
